Leopard Tweaks

Whenever Apple releases a new version of Mac OS X, it's inevitable that as much of an improvement as the update may be, people will find features they don't care for. And it's just as inevitable, they'll find ways to tweak those features to their liking.

Leopard is no exception, and among the biggest early complaints have to do with its interface: the new Dock, the partially-transparent menu bar, lined Finder windows -- in other words, the things you'll be looking at whenever you're using your Mac.

I took a look at some of the first tools for altering Leopard's interface at the Mac Gems weblog. The article covers changes you can make to the Dock, the menu bar, the new Stacks feature, OS X's login window and icons, and other miscellaneous tweaks.

But if you'd like to see some of those changes in action before you download any of these OS X 10.5, I can oblige you. I put together a video of some assorted enhancement utilities, which is available for viewing at Macworld.com. That page includes links to all of the software gems I talk about in both my blog entry and the video.
