Here's a special news alert from Macworld news: Apple completed the transition to Intel-based hardware today, releasing a high-end desktop called the Mac Pro. The desktop will sport two Intel dual core 64-bit Xeon chips running at speeds of up to 3GHz. The standard $2,499 Mac Pro configuration features two 2.66GHz dual-core Xeon processors, 1GB of 667MHz memory, 250GB of storage, an Nvidia GeForce 7300GT graphics card, and 16X DVD-burning SuperDrive. Apple also previewed 10 features from the next major update to OS X, code-named Leopard. Shipping next spring, Leopard includes major enhancements to iChat, Dashboard, Spotlight, and Mail.
