MacSTAC was founded on April 1, 1978 as an Apple II MUG. We are a community group with members from all walks of life, careers and levels of ability. We welcome all Mac users to improve their knowledge and, in turn, share their Mac knowledge with others. http://macstac.org

MacSTAC January 2011 Meeting, Thursday, Jan 20th, 6:30 PM, Vestal Library

Our MacSTAC January 2011 Meeting, will take place on Thursday, Jan 20th, 6:30 PM, Vestal Library.

We have an interesting agenda, starting with a presentation by Kimbely Adams, Joan and Augie Mueller's Granddaughter and a student at Cornell. Her presentation is called "Fantastic Freebies" and she will introduce us to some free apps we never heard of but probably will want to try out soon.

Then we'll talk about the new Apple App Store and the announcement from Verizon about their new iPhone introduction.

We also have a special guest planned who will be making a dramatic entrance sure to wow our socks off.

There will be some other goodies too and of course, drinks, snacks, and popcorn.

The weather report is:

Thursday...Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. Highs in the mid 20s.

Thursday Night...Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow showers. Lows near 10.

On another note, many of you who attended the Holiday Party in December suggested that because the food was unusually delicious, we should make a MacSTAC cookbook. Sue Carpenter has volunteered to put it together. So, if you have recipes to share, please email them to her at suec332@hughes.net.

On a final note, Ed Winter has released his HD movie of the December Holiday Party. You can download it at http://gallery.me.com/edwinter#100103.

Hope to see you Thursday.

Ben Margolius
