February MacSTAC Meeting THIS THURSDAY

Reminder of our February MacSTAC meeting this coming Thursday, February 20th at 6:30 pm, Vestal Library.

Below is obituary for Phil Stacconi, longtime MacSTAC member.




Felix (Phil) Stacconi

Endwell - Felix (Phil) Stacconi, 91, passed away on February 11, 2020. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Rosa Stacconi; his brothers, John and Robert Stacconi. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Patricia Stacconi, Joanne (Lee) Bill, Carolyn (Alan) Michalak; his grandchildren, Jason Kollar, Jennifer Kollar (Liz Hughes), Laura (Zac) Ballard, Kevin, Eric and Christopher Bill, Jamie Stulir; his great-grandchildren, Cora and Juniper Ballard; his sisters, Rosemary (Earl) Rinker, Gloria (Crockett) White; his sister-in-law, Florence Stacconi; special cousins, Bruno (Jane) Colapietro, Anna Cieri, Mario (Maria) Stacconi; also many very special nieces and nephews. After graduating from U-E High School, Phil enlisted in the US Army and served in Italy during WW II. He graduated from State Tech (now SUNY Broome) and was employed by General Electric for 37 years. He remained in the Active Army Reserves for forty years, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. Phil believed in supporting his country and his community, He served on the M-E and Boces school boards. Following his retirement, he could be found every Monday for over thirty years, volunteering at the Discovery Center. Phil's favorite place was his basement workshop. He could fix almost anything and was always available to help family members and friends. He had a strong work ethic that he passed along to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Family 3600 Phyllis St. Endwell, NY. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott, NY on Sunday from 3 to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the USO, PO Box 96860, Washington, DC 20077-7677.
