Samsung ships 'world's smallest' color laser printer

Samsung on October 10th announced it’s shipping its CLP-300 color laser printer. Samsung bills the new model as the world’s smallest color laser, with a footprint of just 15.4 x 13.5 x 10.4 inches. It costs $299 for the base model and $349 for the network version.

The CLP-300 is compatible with Macs, PCs and Linux systems and prints up to 17 pages per minute (PPM) in black and white and 4 PPM in color. It features 600 x 600 dot per inch (DPI) resolution and USB 2.0 connectivity; it’s also available in a CLP-300N model which features a built-in 10/100baseTX network card.

The CLP-300 uses toner bottles in place of cartridges — the secret to its small size. Its duty cycle is rated at up to 24,200 pages per month.

System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 or later.
